    FUCKYESYUNJAE: The Intentional Spread of False Rumors Concerning the Cancellation of JYJ’s Concert

    Note: This has nothing to do with YunJae shipping. This has to do with fans being upset that Yunho was ever a part of Jaejoong’s life.

    These past few days, rumors have surfaced about cancellations of JYJ’s concerts in Singapore and Malaysia. According to the rumor, the reason for this is because of the potential of Jaejoong being gay.

    This rumor stems from the rumor that YunJae fans called Jaejoong, “Jung Jaejoong” and showed him pictures of YunJae kissing. In addition, the one who began the rumor claims that this news has hit Thailand tabloids, effectively defaming Jaejoong and threatening his career. Because of this, the JYJ tour is threatened, and JYJ’s careers are on the line, supposedly.

    To clarify: This rumor is absolutely false. The true story is fans showed the host of the Tonight Show a picture of Yunho and Jaejoong standing together. They are not kissing in the picture. They joked around with the host saying “Jung Jaejoong,” and then saying it’s just their imaginations and they wish it was the case. Furthermore, they never told Jaejoong this. There is no way Jaejoong could possibly have felt offended because he simply did not hear. Several Thai Cassies at the event have attested to this. In addition, the cited source for this rumor is daum and sina, both of which contain nothing about this supposed concert cancellation. Also, Thai fans have checked the tabloids and it has not reached them.

    To further emphasize our point that this rumor is absolutely groundless and invalid:

    1. There is only one fanaccount of this so called incident in Thailand’s Tonight Show.
    2. Thailand is particularly accepting towards homosexuality, in comparison to other Asian countries, so the “pro-homosexual” image would actually be a non-issue.
    3. Jaejoong has not come out and claimed he is gay, or straight. There’s no way he or JYJ are promoting a pro-homosexual image because he hasn’t stated anything about being gay.
    4. Jaejoong’s sexuality has NOT reached Thailand tabloids or newspapers.
    5. The original poster claims that the incident is spreading in Thailand’s entertainment industry, but logically how would someone know that if they are not part of the industry? Secondly, there are many gay entertainers in Thailand and they have yet to be ostracized.
    6. Fans claim this pro-homosexuality image is the cause for a ban on JYJ’s concert tour when Adam Lambert, a famous, open gay himself has performed in the same Asian countries.     7. YunJae and other couples have been promoted by SME themselves, and in all 6 years together, the boys were never banned from any countries, even demonstrating fanservice themselves.
    8. Other Korean artists, such as Super Junior, have demonstrated even greater acts of homosexuality by kissing members fully on the lips during live performances, and even then, they were not banned from performing in Asia.

    This is not about believing in YunJae or whether “homosexuality is bad,” but the intentions of the fans who started this rumor.

    In this article, the author states: “I know YJ’s shippers and a lot OT5 fans love YJ pair.”

    Exactly why bring up the OT5 argument? What does being OT5 have to do with shipping YunJae? It is clear that the other just added this statement as an attack to OT5 fans when clearly not all OT5 fans ship YunJae. Homosexuality is not the real issue here. It is fans saying Yunho’s name in front of Jaejoong. It is perfectly acceptable for fans to scream “YooSu” to Yoochun and Junsu, which clearly contains homosexual implications. The original poster of the Thailand rumor also asks, “One thing I wonder, why most of YJ stan don’t even dare to shout JJ name in front of YH? I hardly see any vid where YJ fans shout JJ names in front of YH?”

    Noteworthy: The fan showed Yunho a YunJae picture, told Yunho she’s YunJae’s daughter, and asked Yunho if him and Jaejoong are doing ok. All actions that go further than simply screaming Jaejoong’s name.

    These fans who started the rumors wanted to criticize YunJae shippers when YooSu shippers exhibit the same behavior. Furthermore, they don’t get upset about YunJae being brought up to Yunho, only towards Jaejoong. So far a fan has not gone up to Jaejoong and asked him if he and Yunho are still in contact. It is glaringly obvious that they just have a problem with Yunho being mentioned to Jaejoong. Fans may want to give up Yunho, but why do you assume Jaejoong does? Did he explicitly say, “No. Never bring up Yunho .” Quite the opposite, in fact, he has mentioned Yunho and Changmin on his twitter, he has put in his profile 5 stars, he listens to TVXQ songs.

    Regardless of whether Jaejoong wants to get back with Yunho and Changmin, the two of them are a big part of his life. To eliminate and deny it is shocking and disrespectful, to Homin as well as JaeChunSu. And to target fans and accuse them of a crime they did not commit is just low. Yunho and Jaejoong met in 2001 and it is now 2011. Ten years. Ten solid years they have known each other with 6 years as band members leading the same lives.

    This effort to sabotage the YunJae fandom and, more importantly, attempt to make a split in OT5 fandom was a failure. Lack of credibility in sources, baseless rumors, and claims contradicting with hard facts illustrate that this incident is completely unbelievable and false. To stoop so low and target a particular part of the fandom is unfathomable. Is it not you, the fan, who continues to argue Jaejoong’s sexuality? You, the fans, are spreading this lie about Jaejoong’s reputation being ruined, when the logical conclusion would be to keep this incident low key. In addition, the possibility of a concert being canceled is extremely shocking for a fan who has waited maybe years to see the boys. Your actions did nothing but shake the fandom in a negative way, and quite frankly, that you thought it was acceptable is pathetic.

    TVXQ existed and exists. Yunho exists. Changmin exists. Their past exists. Fans who support all 5 boys exist. Get over it.
